Missing Persons in Latin America Memorial
This project was the winner of an open call to sculptors and
visual artists in 2009 by the Montevideo City Council. The
site´s inauguration was held on December 10, 2009, at the
Memory Square in the city of Montevideo.
During the decades of state terrorism in Latin America
(1960-1990), thousands of people were arrested and
disappeared facing oppression.
This work evokes their
presence and their struggle for a better world.
